10-Hexyl-10H-phenothiazine-3-carbaldehyde

The asymmetric unit of the title compound, C(19)H(21)NOS, contains two mol-ecules, which form dimers via pairs of weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds.

10-Ethyl-10H-phenothiazine-3-carbaldehyde

In the title mol-ecule, C(15)H(13)NOS, the two benzene rings of the tricyclic fused-ring system are inclined at 21.1 (1)°. In the crystal, weak C-H⋯O hydrogen bonds link the mol-ecules into chains along [001]. The crystal packing also exhibits π-π inter-actions with a distance of 3.801 (5) Å between the centroids of the benzene rings of neighbouring mol-ecules.

Crystal structure of 10-ethyl-7-(9-ethyl-9H-carbazol-3-yl)-10H-phenothiazine-3-carbaldehyde

The title compound, C29H24N2OS, contains a pheno-thia-zine moiety linked to a planar carbazole unit (r.m.s. deviation = 0.029 Å) by a C-C single bond. The pheno-thia-zine moiety possesses a typical non-planar butterfly structure with a fold angle of 27.36 (9)° between the two benzene rings. The dihedral angle between the mean planes of the carbazole and pheno-thia-zine units is 27.28 (5)°. In t...

10-(1,2,2-Trichlorovinyl)-10H-phenothiazine 5,5-dioxide

The title compound, C(14)H(8)Cl(3)NO(2)S, forms a dimeric structure by inter-molecular Cl⋯O=S inter-actions. The dimers make a two-dimensional array parallel to (101) by other Cl⋯O=S inter-actions. The two-dimensional network is found to be kept unchanged, although the trichloro-vinyl group is disordered (relative occupancies 0.65:0.35).

1-(10H-phenothiazin-10-yl)ethanone

In the title compound, C14H11NOS, the phenothia-zine unit has a butterfly conformation and the central six-membered ring has a boat form. The fold angle between the benzene rings is 46.39 (7)°, which is larger than found in similar compounds, probably as a result of steric repulsion between the phenothia-zine fragment and the acetyl group.
